Human Rights Education
A new generation of Human Rights Defenders

Since the 23rd and until the 29th of July, more than 40 young human rights defenders from the Euro-Mediterranean area are gathered in Limassol (Cyprus) at the initiative of the Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Network.

During one week, they will participate in workshops, attend conferences, exchange experiences in order to create and build a better understanding of Human Rights Education among participants in an engaging and empowering manner.

By bringing together participants from all over the Mediterranean area, the Summer School aims at promoting the dissemination of Human Rights culture and values in the region. It seeks to empower those who work with youth with the tools and the ideas behind human rights learning.

Organised by the EMHRN working Group (composed of leading Human Rights NGOs specialized in HR Education), the Summer school will Respond to a crucial challenge: recruiting a new generation of young volunteers who are conscious of their responsibilities and involve them in the defense of human rights.
